Peppers Creek Weddings
The Hunter Valley is home to some of Australia’s most prestigious vineyards, with tourists flocking from all over the world to sample award-winning wines. There are so many gorgeous wineries, restaurants, and event spaces in the region, which is why it’s so impressive that Peppers Creek stands out from the crowd. A stunning sandstone building with an onsite chapel, Peppers Creek is a highly sought-after wedding destination for couples from the local area and Australia-wide.
The Scene at Peppers Creek Hunter Valley
Built from century-old sandstone blocks, Peppers Creek strikes a distinctly European tone that perfectly suits the rolling Hunter Valley hills. As you and your guests arrive at the chapel (also built from the same gorgeous sandstone), you’ll discover a picture-perfect setting. The chapel doors are preceded by a peaked timber pergola set amongst the flourishing vines that look stunning when adorned with floral pieces.
Heading into the Tuscan barrel room for the reception, you’ll pass through the venue’s iconic 3m-high Indian elephant doors. These impressive timber structures make a gorgeous backdrop for wedding photos, with white gowns really popping against the dark timber.
Venturing further into the space, it’s evident that the European tone has been seamlessly brought into the interior. The barrel room is rich in dark timber beams, floors, and furnishings. Though this may sound rustic, the Peppers Creek styling team has created a sense of luxury with the decor. Picture gilded mirrors along the walls, handsome candelabra, and lush florals that bring a sense of luxury and sophistication to the room.
Peppers Creek Hunter Valley Wedding Ceremonies
Ceremonies typically occur in the stunning chapel, a non-denominational space that welcomes couples of all religions and backgrounds. Surrounded by the estate’s gorgeous vines, your guests’ first impression of your wedding ceremony is of a picturesque winery escape.
The entrance to the chapel is marked by an impressive peaked timber pergola that feels like an extension of the chapel itself, or at least a grand antechamber. Previous couples have suspended gorgeous floral arrangements from the timber pillars and beams or strung garlands and ribbons across the structure to balance the rustic timber with romantic furnishings.
Inside the chapel, a long red carpet marks your procession down the aisle. Multiple windows allow plenty of natural light to fill the space, and the light timber beams and sandstone walls evoke a sense of openness that sets the tone for a beautiful, intimate ceremony.
The chapel is equipped with a sound system to play your favourite tracks for the aisle walk and has a signing table with two chairs and a timber lectern for your celebrant or special speakers to present from. The chapel can seat up to 70 guests comfortably, but with additional seating added to the undercover area outside, you can have 120 guests attend your wedding ceremony at Peppers Creek.
Peppers Creek Hunter Valley Wedding Receptions
For the chillier seasons, there’s nothing better than having a roaring fire in full swing as your guests head inside the barrel room for the reception. Boasting the Hunter Valley’s largest stone fireplace, your guests will enjoy the cosy atmosphere that Peppers Creek is so renowned for. The barrel room is an elegant space that effortlessly exudes rustic luxury and can be arranged in long banquet tables or round cabaret tables with room for a dancefloor.
You can arrange for the Peppers Creek team to start serving drinks and canapes as a post-ceremony snack whilst you’re off taking photos around the property before settling down to a plated multi-course feast designed by Peppers Creek’s executive chef. Mealtimes in the Tuscan barrel room are a joyous affair, and when the candelabras are lit, and the flames reflect in the mirrors around the room, there’s an undeniable sense of magic in the air.
