The Scene at Dulwich College London

Nestled amid 70 acres of leafy grounds, Dulwich College offers a picture-perfect setting for your wedding celebrations in South East London. With beautiful backdrops for al fresco drinks and endless possibilities for stunning wedding photography, the sprawling grounds make for a beautiful place to host your wedding day.

Within the grounds, there are several unique and historical locations perfect for hosting both your wedding ceremony and reception. Housed within the spectacular Grade II-listed Barry Buildings, the Great Hall is an awe-inspiring wedding venue, with its intricate stained glass windows, decorative hammer-beam roof, and rich colour palette. This magnificent space looks particularly lovely set up with round tables adorned in crisp white tablecloths.

The charming Pavilion Salle is a more intimate wedding space at Dulwich College, boasting spacious balconies overlooking the picturesque grounds. This opulent wood-panelled room is separate from the main buildings at Dulwich College, offering a wonderfully secluded setting for your wedding breakfast.

Dulwich College Wedding Ceremonies

The elegant Old Library is licenced for civil ceremonies, and the Barry Buildings can host traditional ceremonies. For traditional ceremonies, the spacious Great Hall is a wonderful choice, with plenty of room to accommodate up to 450 guests. Small fires are permitted for Hindu ceremonies in this space.

Following your ceremony, guests can enjoy canapés and bubbles on the manicured lawns as you slip away for wedding photos across the grounds. Potential backdrops for your photography include the spectacular gates, striking terracotta facade, and idyllic front lawns of the historic Barry Buildings.

Dulwich College Wedding Receptions

The Great Hall offers an elegant banquet setting for wedding receptions at Dulwich College, with unique historical features and a soaring high ceiling. As your guests sit down to dine, they’ll be blown away by the grand feel of the space while enjoying a delicious wedding menu crafted by the college’s talented culinary team.

After your wedding breakfast, guests can make their way down the grand staircase to the Lower Hall and Cloisters on the ground floor. These versatile spaces are often hired in conjunction with the Great Hall and provide the ideal location for your evening celebration, offering plenty of room for a dancefloor and live entertainment. We can’t imagine a grander setting to dance the night away with your friends and family!

Dulwich College is a beautiful place to have an event. I've just been to a wedding here, the chapel was only a three-minute walk from the reception area. Would recommend it in a heartbeat.

Danny T

A massive thank you to Dulwich College for being the perfect hosts for our ceremony last weekend. The Old Library is such a special place and we are chuffed to bits to have married there!
