The stunning Main Hall with its famous Rubens ceiling will comfortably seat up to 300 guests for a dinner and dance affair. Guests can sip champagne beneath the intricate details of Peter Paul Rubens’ paintings which were installed in Banqueting House’s ceiling in 1636 and have been marvelled at since. 

Beneath the ballroom, and connected by a grand twisting staircase that can be adorned with flowers and lighting, guests will find the Undercroft, a versatile blank canvas basement that features stone-paved floors, beautiful ceiling arches, and attractive low lighters that illuminate the smooth white walls. Once a popular drinking den for monarchs and courtiers, the Undercroft can host ceremonies for 150 guests and up to 120 guests for dinner.

Exclusive hire of Banqueting House, which includes the Main Hall and Undercroft, ranges from £11,000 to £15,000 depending on the day of the week and month of the year. Security guards, a venue manager, 300 dining chairs, welcome hostesses and a cleaner are all included in the venue hire.

Guests will be delighted to know that both the charming Undercroft and the astonishing Main Hall are licensed for wedding ceremonies.

The intimate Undercroft radiates romance and offers space for up to 150 ceremony guests. For a larger affair, the Main Hall boasts glittering chandeliers and a magnificent ceiling masterpiece for wedding ceremonies with up to 400 guests. 


Banqueting House London Wedding Receptions

Once favoured by England’s monarchs, the Undercroft offers a dramatic yet elegant space for drink receptions and evening entertainment, allowing capacity for up to 380 guests at a drinks reception. The magical subterranean space makes for an unforgettable evening of dining, dancing and celebration. 

For a more sizeable reception, rejoice in the grandeur of the Main Hall. With room for 450 people, guests will follow in the footsteps of kings and queens, climbing the majestic staircase to the grandeur of the Main Hall. Here, magnificent pillars and twinkling chandeliers will be waiting below Sir Peter Paul Rubens’ glorious painted ceiling.
