The Scene at The Hurlingham Club

EXCLUSIVE – HERITAGE – GARDENS

The Hurlingham Club is a beautiful private estate property surrounded by flourishing gardens and leafy glades in Fulham. The sprawling 42-acre property rolls out like a royal green carpet towards the River Thames, where the wedding couple could arrive by boat and make a movie-star entrance on the pontoon.

As one of London’s oldest and most prestigious private members’ clubs, antiquity is part of the charm at Hurlingham Club. The heritage feel of this London wedding venue attracts engaged couples from all over the UK and beyond. Inside, the Hurlingham Club’s variety of event spaces create endless ideas for grand occasions and intimate gatherings

The natural beauty of the Hurlingham Club’s landscape provides a beautiful seasonal backdrop to wedding ceremonies and receptions. There are plenty of photo opportunities inside the venue and outside in the secret sunken garden near the River Thames. The specialist Hurlingham Club wedding coordinators will be able to guide you through what’s possible for your special day, and recommend their top suppliers.

Wedding Ceremonies at The Hurlingham Club

Ceremony Highlights:

  • Hurlingham Club ceremony capacity ranges from 100 to 200 guests
  • Dedicated wedding coordinator to sort all the ceremony logistics

Hurlingham Club weddings can accommodate midsize to large civil ceremonies in its various venues inside the private club. Each provides a neutral setting to apply your own personal touches, from subtle floral bouquets to striking chairs and vibrant production installations.

For smaller wedding ceremonies of up to 100 guests, the Terrace Room is a perfect choice. The light-reflecting mirrored walls illuminate the conservatory-style room and provide a heavenly backdrop for your service. Afterwards, the airy French doors open directly onto the gravel paths and lawns, where guests can shower the couple with confetti and toast to the marriage.

Larger wedding ceremonies often take place in the airy Palm Court and Orangery. This magnificent glass-roofed auditorium lends itself to a long wedding aisle through the centre and a decorative flower arch where the couple exchanges their vows. This south-facing ceremony space makes the most of the natural light and the surrounding green oasis.

Wedding Receptions at The Hurlingham Club

Reception Highlights:

  • Fluid interconnected event spaces that can open into the boundless Hurlingham Suite
  • Picturesque outdoor terraces and BBQ facilities for outdoor receptions

Since the Hurlingham Club is recognised as one of Britain’s greatest private members’ clubs, there’s no doubt why wedding receptions here are particularly memorable. Heritage and tradition lie at the heart of Hurlingham Club, but the event spaces are laced with state-of-the-art technology to keep up the party atmosphere all night long.

There are various function rooms that work well for wedding receptions inside the Georgian clubhouse. Palm Court and the adjacent Broomhouse Suite is a natural choice, with its remarkable glass arched ceilings, huge windows and bright, welcoming atmosphere. Guests can flow in and out between the venue and the gardens with a topped up glass of champagne and a canape or two.

The Quadrangle Suite is another elegant south-facing event space next to the Terrace Room with a well-appointed symmetrical design. Round tables work well in this room so that all guests feel equally as close to the central dance floor, and they are never too far away from the scenic gardens through the numerous glass doors.

Another advantage of booking the Hurlingham Club for your wedding reception is the adaptability of the function rooms. They all connect via bi-fold walls, which retract to reveal one lofty uninterrupted reception space if you are hosting a celebration for over a thousand guests.
