This magnificent wedding venue has everything you need and more for a special, memorable day. With cosy fireplaces, indoor and alfresco reception venue options, a sweeping staircase, and mouthwatering in-house catering, this stunning, centrally-located find combines luxury and history, providing couples with a sophisticated, grand setting for their big day.

The Scene at The In & Out Naval and Military Club London

The In & Out Naval Military Club is an exclusive, distinguished wedding venue nestled in the heart of London, specifically, historic St James’s Square. Although it was once located in Piccadilly, this prestigious clubhouse still sits in the City of Westminster and has a rich sense of culture and English heritage.

Neighbouring the sophisticated Mayfair and across the river from Waterloo, this luxurious venue is close to a number of famous tourist attractions, including Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, the London Eye and Buckingham Palace.

In addition to its proximity to some of the world’s most iconic landmarks, this period townhouse is the picture of exclusivity and luxury. Located near St James’s Park — just off Pall Mall — The In & Out London was once a residential home for the first woman to sit in parliament, Lady Nancy Astor.

To this day, the venue has many of the original features intact, giving weddings here a historic, classic setting — practically fit for royalty. Featuring towering columns, many charming fireplaces, a private courtyard, grand piano, beautiful paintings, crystal chandeliers, and gold finishings, this refurbished club is perfect for traditional, ballroom-style weddings.

Located within this plush venue are a number of reception areas for couples to choose from, including the lavish Coffee Room (complete with built-in, modern dancefloor), cream-and-blue King Harald V Room, and quaint, alfresco Courtyard. After celebrations wind down, couples often spend their wedding night in the luxurious, roomy Bridal Suite, although, if they’d prefer an alternative, there’s are 51 other rooms and suites to choose from.

The In & Out Naval and Military Club London Wedding Ceremonies

If you’re looking for a one-stop-shop to have your ceremony and reception, The In & Out can deliver; and is fully licensed for civil ceremonies and partnerships. Most couples who book their reception at The In & Out opt to have their ceremony in the venue’s King Harold V Room.

The King Harold V Room has a cream, gold and duck-egg-blue colour scheme, giving it a soft, warm atmosphere, despite its regal design. It is embellished with three dazzling feature chandeliers, drapes for privacy, and antique paintings fitted with gold frames. Located on the first floor, this opulent room overlooks the venue’s private, tranquil Courtyard, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering a pleasant view and plenty of natural light.

If you choose to have your ceremony here, you will walk from the venue’s stunning bridal suite, and down the aisle towards your beloved, who will be waiting for you in front of the King Harold V Room’s marble fireplace. It’s undeniably cosy and romantic, not to mention safely tucked away from rainy London days.

The In & Out Naval and Military Club London Wedding Receptions

The In & Out Naval and Military Club is an ideal place to host formal, chic wedding receptions, with both indoor and alfresco wedding options to choose from.

While you may choose to host a champagne reception in St James’s Gardens (The In & Out can arrange private access and has special permission to use the lawns), you might want to retire to either The Coffee Room, King Harald V, or outdoor Courtyard afterward.

The magnificent Coffee Room is a very impressive space, and features exquisite chandeliers, built-in dancefloor, stunning paintings, gold finishings set against crimson walls, and offers a view across St James’s Square Garden. This elegant room can cater for up to 120 seated guests or 250 cocktail style.

Alternatively, you may like to host your reception in the opulent King Harald V Room. This venue is an interesting combination of warmth and elegance, with its cream and duck-egg-blue colour scheme giving the room a softer feel. While this space is popular for intimate, romantic ceremonies, it can also comfortably host receptions, with space for 84 seated guests or 150 standing.

If you’re looking for a modern, charming alfresco area for your wedding celebration, you needn’t look further than The Courtyard, In & Out’s quaint, outdoor event venue to the rear of the building. This tranquil spot is perfect for summer evening wedding receptions, however, it is also fully heated and has a bespoke marquee that is able to be pulled over in the cooler months, allowing for moody, magical winter weddings.

The In & Out Naval and Military Club on-site catering team delivers world-class fare, with the team happy to tailor dishes to your specifications. You might choose some hot and cold canapés, like the delicious mini Yorkshires with rare roast beef and beetroot or spiced lamb with apricot kofta and harissa yoghurt.

Perhaps you’d prefer a formal, sit-down dinner. In which case, you’ll have a hard time choosing between the classic, tasty dishes and modern, experimental meals, including the mustard and quinoa crusted lamb rump fondant and grilled cod loin with lemon butter crushed potatoes.

Of course, there is an extensive wine list to complement these scrumptious dishes – and your delicious wedding cake, too.

Regardless of what your dream wedding night looks like — be that a banquet-style event or formal, sit-down dinner with accompanying dancefloor — the dedicated staff at The In & Out are able to work with you to create your unique, seamless wedding day.
